Seul le mécanicien James Alexander NEALEY sort vivant de l'appareil et arrive à échapper à la capture - n° matricule (serial number 1590700. natif de Chirley, Southampton (UK). Il put rejoindre le Royaume-Uni le 1er septembre 1944.
James Alexander NEALEY était ingénieur de vol à bord de l'Avro Lancaster LM378 - PG # J. Seul survivant de l'équipage, il réussit à s'échapper et a pu être caché par la résistance française qui l'emmena par la suite vers Paris. Là, il resta caché jusqu'à la libération de la capitale, fin août 1944, et put être rapatrié en Angleterre par les Américains quelques jours plus tard.
