L'avion avait décollé à 22 h. 58 de la base de Bardney dans le Lincolnshire (UK)

Le quadrimoteur est touché par la flak à plusieurs reprises. Il a cependant le temps de larguer ses bombes avant de s'écrase sur le territoire de la commune d'YVRENCHEUX, à 15 kilomètres au N.E. d'Abbeville

Deux membres de l'équipage ont pu s'extraire de la carlingue et sont faits prisonniers :

F/Sergeant Kenneth HUGHES, bombardier, RAF, Service Number : 1457564, né le 26 août 1923 à Liverpool (UK). Il est capturé dès le lendemain, 26 juin 1944, près d'Abbeville. Il passera par Bruxelles avant d'être envoyé en Allemagne dans différents camps de prisonniers de guerre.

F/O Robert Roy NIGHTINGALE, mitrailleur, RAF, Service Number : 422003, né le 18 février 1916 à Guilford (UK). Blessé, il est capturé le jour même. Il sera par la suite envoyé au stalag Luft III de Sagan.

Les cinq autres membres d'équipage sont tués soit lors des impacts de la flak dans les airs soit au moment du crash.

L'avion avait décollé à 22 h. 51 de la base de Bardney dans le Lincolnshire (UK)

Le bombardier s'écrase route de Doullens à Coulonvillers à 15 kilomètres au ENE d'Abbeville.


Deux membres de l'équipage ont pu s'extraire de la carlingue et sont faits prisonniers :

Sergeant William WILSON, mitrailleur, RAF, prisonnier, serial number : 533348 - né le 3 juillet 1918 à Yiewsley, Middlesex (UK). Blessé, il est capturé presque immédiatement le jour même. Il sera envoyé par la suite dans un camp de prisonniers en Allemagne.
